If you're trying to relax and be more calm, you're bascially looking to be less stressed out. It is the truth, even if it is a very general outlook. Less anxiety and more relaxed feelings only come when you can minimize stress in your [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] life.

If you can do this, when occurances [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] happen that would normally create excess stress, you'll likely want to respond in a much different fashion. More than likely the occurance is just as stressful as it would normally be, and you're reacting to it how you normally would (but you can train yourself to do this differently, if you like), but now there is just less overall stress in your life.

This means that your 'starting out point' for stress is lower, so therefore, when the stressful situation arises, even if your anxiety rises, it's [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] not going to be as high as it normally would be.

Determining what sort of exercise you should be doing to reduce your stress (if that's one of your main reasons to do it) should be forefront in your mind. You [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] could approach [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] this a couple different ways.

Usually, calming exercise methods like Yoga, tai-chi, or something similar are look at as being good for relaxation. And they would be right.

Calming and relaxing your mind is one of the driving factors behind this sort of exercise. The physical portions of these forms of exercise are good, but part of the actual execution [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] of the movements themselves is [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] to clear your mind so that your body [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] and your emotional well-being are both trained at the same time. And this is why you can use these forms [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] of exercise to reduce stress so well.

You will often find those that practice yoga or tai-chi to be very laid back and relaxed people. This is because of the training they do, which is often coupled with deep breathing.

You could also go the absolute opposite direction of the yoga and tai-chi approach - and that [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] would be to do workouts that are as intense as possible.

Initially, this probably sounds like an odd plan of action. Yoga and other such forms of exercise are great at lowering stress because they make you focus on calming yourself. The carry-over of being in a calmer, more relaxed state has you being this way in many areas of your life - not just exercise.

And just how would intense workouts have you being the same way? Isn't it likely to see the opposite? Why wouldn't your stress levels just get higher?

In your mind, go back to the last time you did some really intense and hard physical activity. Remember the last time you just worked your tail off at the gym. Think back to what that was like.

As an alternative - think back to when you were doing some deep digging, stacking firewood, construction, or some other really hard physical labor task. Just something that was physically demanding.

How did you feel after either instance? Probably pretty tired and drained, right?

How stressed out were you? You probably felt little to no stress because any lingering stress you had just got worked off doing your intense exercise or work. Now you can understand why it's so common for people to use hard work and/or intense exercise to reduce stress and calm down.

Either type of method could work - you [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] should experiment with both to see what's best for you.
